      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The weight room times will be changing to the evening starting JUNE 28th ! &nbsp; Athletes should report to the football practice field at &nbsp;6 &nbsp;PM. &nbsp; Speed work, &nbsp;agility, lifting and razzle time will run until 7:15 pm. &nbsp; Times have been changed in an attempt to allow more athletes an opportunity to be involved with speed and strength training. &nbsp;The sessions are open to athletes in grades 8-12. &nbsp; The weight room will be CLOSED &nbsp;July 1st - 7th. &nbsp; Workouts will resume on July 9th.</p>]]></content:encoded>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is not to late to be involved with the team camp being held at Winona State University on July 18-21. &nbsp; Thirty players are currently registered to go and we have room for more. &nbsp;This is a full contact camp with coaching instruction for individuals, &nbsp;team practice and team scrimmage time. &nbsp;Milaca has taken teams to this camp the past 3 years and joined over 12 other teams and 400+ &nbsp;players. &nbsp; If you are still interested in this camp but have not turned in a registration form, &nbsp;email me at: &nbsp;randy.johnson@milaca.k12.mn.us &nbsp;or &nbsp;call &nbsp;320-556-3349 &nbsp;Cost for the 3 day camp is &nbsp;$175, &nbsp;this includes all cost including transportation to the camp. &nbsp;We will be leaving Milaca at &nbsp;11:30 am on July 18th and return about &nbsp;4 pm on July 21st. &nbsp; Please email or call if you have any further questions.&nbsp;</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p><strong>It's time to get ready for another Season of the Game you Love the Most !</strong></p>
<p><br /><strong>Weight Room set to open for the summer on June 7th !&nbsp;&nbsp; </strong>The summer speed and strength training will officially begin on June 7th.&nbsp;&nbsp; Athletes in grades 7-12 are invited to be a part of the program,&nbsp; there is NO&nbsp; fee.&nbsp; Athletes should meet at the&nbsp; football field at&nbsp; 6:15 AM beginning on Monday, June 7th.&nbsp; Training sessions will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays throughout the summer.&nbsp; Sessions will run from&nbsp; 6:15 am to 7:45 am.&nbsp; Athletes should come prepared with shorts, t-shirt and good running shoes.&nbsp;&nbsp; Coach Sommerlot will be supervising the program for the summer with the other members of the football staff.&nbsp;&nbsp; A registration signature will be required,&nbsp; athletes may pick up this form the first day they attend.&nbsp;&nbsp; Athletes will only be allowed access to the weight room through the band room door on the north side of the building.&nbsp;&nbsp; Students are&nbsp; not allowed to access the building through any other doors.&nbsp;&nbsp; Questions?&nbsp; Contact Coach Johnson&nbsp; 320-556-3349.</p>

      <title>Dates Set for Summer Football Camps</title>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3><strong>Milaca Football players</strong> will have the opportunity to travel to Winona State University to participate in the <strong>2010 Team Camp to be held July 18-21</strong>.</h3>
<p>This will be the 4th year that Milaca has taken part in this team camp. &nbsp;Last year &nbsp;33 players in grades 9-12 competed against &nbsp;16 other teams and over 400 players from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois in a 3 1/2 day team camp. &nbsp;The camp provides skill development at all positions on both offense and defense. &nbsp;Players will also work skills in groups and with their own team to prepare for live scrimmages. &nbsp;Players and parents can register online or download a registration form at the following website:</p>

      <title>Wolves End of the Season Awards 2009</title>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The 2009 season came to an end as the Wolves lost to state Tournament bound - Mora, &nbsp;27-21 in OT in the Section 7 AAA playoffs. &nbsp; Mora went on to&nbsp;the state semi-finals before losing to Glencoe-Silver Lake. &nbsp;The Wolves ended with a 3-6 record with 3 of those losses to teams&nbsp;that were in the state semi-finals. &nbsp;&nbsp;The Wolves Football team held their annual Awards Banquet and presented the following awards for 2009:</p>

      <title>Wolves season ends on OT loss to Mora in Section 7AAA</title>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The roller coaster ride continued through the first round of the section 7AAA playoff game as Mora ended Milaca's season in a 27-21 overtime game. &nbsp;Mora won the first half with a 21-7 score. &nbsp;Milaca won the second half tying the score at 21-21 at the end of the game. &nbsp;Mora won the toss in the OT and stopped the Wolves on 4 plays. &nbsp;The Mustangs then went off tackle on a great run to pick up the touchdown in the overtime win. &nbsp; The loss ends the season for the Wolves while Mora goes on to play &nbsp;Greenway-Nashwauk-Keewatin in the semi-final game to be held at Mora at 2 pm on Sat. Oct. 31st. &nbsp;In the other south half game, &nbsp;Pine City defeated Aitkin 22-6. &nbsp; In the north half of the section, &nbsp;Greenway defeated Two Harbors and Virginia defeated Proctor. &nbsp;</p>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The &nbsp;7 AAA section playoff picture has finally been set. &nbsp;Milaca will play Mora in the first round of the section tournament. &nbsp;After moving from section 6 AAA where teams are basically made up of the West Central Conference, Milaca will still face a West Central opponent as they take on the Mustangs in Mora on Tuesday, Oct. 27th &nbsp;at 7 pm. &nbsp; Pine City and Mora ended the regular season with identical 6-2 records but Pine City will get the number 1 seed in the south half of the section on a predetermined tie-breaker. &nbsp;Pine City will take on Aitkin, &nbsp;the number 4 seed in the first round. &nbsp;</p>
<p>In the north half, &nbsp;number 1, Greenway-Nashwauk-Keewatin will take on number 4 Two Harbors. &nbsp;Virginia and Proctor will battle in the 3 and 4 spot. &nbsp; Winners will meet in the second round at the site of the highest seed on Sat. Oct. 31st &nbsp;at &nbsp;2 pm. &nbsp; If Miiiaca beats Mora and Greenway wins... the next game would be at Greenway, &nbsp;a Greenway loss to Two Harbors would bring the game to Milaca. &nbsp;The finals are set to be played in Duluth on November 6th. &nbsp;</p>

      <title>Wolves hang on to beat Mainstreeters 22&#45;20 in Game 8</title>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After dominating the first quarter and most of the first half the Wolves held on to defeat Sauk Centre 22-20 in the last regular season game. &nbsp; Milaca took an early 7 - 0 lead on a 52 yd run by fullback, Sam Johnson. &nbsp;Tyler Norrgard and Clinton Sampson had great blocks on the toss play that gave Sam the open lane to the end zone. &nbsp; Kicker, Eddy Sales, &nbsp;added the PAT and Milaca was up &nbsp;7-0. &nbsp; Still in the first quarter, &nbsp;Sam Johnson scored off-tackle on a 9 yard run with another Sales kick to make the score 14-0 late in the first quarter. &nbsp; The Wolves played solid defense in the second quarter, turning away the Mainstreeters twice inside the 20 yard line.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Mitch Ruis brought the excitement back to Milaca fans as he returned the opening kick-off of the second half for a 79 yd touchdown, &nbsp;the kicked failed, but Milaca led 20-0. &nbsp;Sauk rallied with a 7 yd td run in the 3rd quarter and 2 more unanswered scores in the 4th quarter. &nbsp;Elliot Hass sealed the game for the Wolves with a sack and safety of the QB late in the 4th quarter to give the Wolves the 22-20 lead. &nbsp; Sam Johnson ended the game with &nbsp;156 yds rushing and 2 touchdowns. &nbsp; Travis Bertram and Ripp Baker had an outstanding defensive game for the Wolves.&nbsp;</p>
