Sat, October 10, 2009 - Posted by Coach Johnson

The 3rd ranked Wildcats of New London-Spicer rolled over the Wolves 49-6 in a West Central Conference Game on Friday, Oct. 9th, 2009.  The Wildcats jumped off to an early 7-0 lead after a kick return moved the ball to the Wolves  20 yard line to open the game. New London quickly punched the ball into the endzone.  The Wolves came back with a 56 yard touchdown pass from Hanenburg to Kiel to make the score 14-6.  The momentum went right back to the Wildcats as Henle scooped up a Milaca fumble and ran it back for a 65 yard TD.  The Wolves came out strong in the second half but could not get on the scoreboard as New London picked off a Milaca pass and returned it  42 yards for another Wildcat touchdown.  The Wildcats had only given up 10 points in five games and only one other touchdown.   The loss moves the Wolves to 2-4  as they prepare for a showdown game with rival Mora.  The Mustangs defeated Cathedral 39-6 to improve their record to 4-2.  Milaca travels to Mora on Wednesday night, October 14th and finishes out the regular season at home with Sauk Centre on Tuesday,  October 20th.  The first found of Section  7AAA will be played on October 27th at a site to be determined by seeding.
